This syllabus dives into the themes and multi-modal structures of ܡܲܕܪܲܫܬܵܐ ܕܥܲܫܬܵܖܹ̈ܐ ✸ مَدْرَسَةُ العَشْتارات ✸ Անահիտներու դպրոցը — the Madrassat Al-Aashtarat Venusian Polymathic School for Transgenerational Justice and Liberatory Education facilitated by Eazuka Khazrik. It outlines, or rather, encircles, the educational journey we will take together as we decolonize the science and practice of Chaldean astrology, reclaiming this universalist practice from extraction, colonialism and distortion, in order to recenter astrology as a polymathic, living system of ancestral knowledge to be shared with dignity and in service to justice in the world.
Following in the footsteps of my ancestors who travelled widely to teach and study, I am humbled to continue this lineage of communal knowledge exchange with you. In this curriculum, I invite you all to be respectfully in communion with SWANA-based educational and healing knowledge systems, as opposed to adopting an exclusionary and kleptocratic approach to knowledge production and (dis-)embodiment.
Together in this multi-lingual school, we will explore the following stellar themes through an embodied multi-modal dialectical environment that is inspired by multi-orbital modes of interconnected thinking and dwelling. In this school, we will:✸ Unpack the tenets of decolonizing astrology and the history of science, following teachings passed down from my Chaldean grandmother, Nana Zahra alongside my own embodied and scholarly experiences across communal practice, linguistics, astrophysics, music and the arts;✸ Explore grief and rage as sacred forces necessary for transformation and characteristic of our transimissions of Aashtar, so we can reclaim their power through Babylonian/Chaldean/Assyrian Venusian stories, rhythms, ancient astrological annals, ritualistic elements and medicinal practices centered on mourning and revolution;✸ Re-encounter the many faces of Aashtar and her counterparts in the fixed stars, the exoplanets/astral bodies and our multi-specific kins, from herbs to animals;✸ Trace the historical and ongoing pacification, domestication, and disarmament of Aashtar as we come together for a counter-cartography of liberation;✸ Reclaim Aashtar’s untamable matriarchal power, delve into the mother wound of her priestesses and what her surviving stories teach us about the spiritual power of transness and queer resistance through study, ritual, and song;✸ Revisit musical practices, instruments, plants, and incense recipes that my Chaldean Babylonian and Assyrian ancestors developed in association with Aashtar, documented in amicable neighbourly exchanges(mostly in explicit correspondence with Canaan and Kemet/Ancient Egypt) and see together how they are preserved across West Asia, North Africa in the world today, and in ensuing times;✸ Revive the conjoined power of our collective imagination, engage in dance-based somatic activations and learn how to work with Aashtarian alphabets and talismans;✸ Consistently ground ourselves through stellar unity in the astrorevolutionary politics and ancestral practices of West Asia and North Africa that could guide our quest for transgenerational healing in this (deeply genocidal) present;
Throughout our curriculum, we will also engage in deliberate study of neighboring ancestral wisdoms that have had dialectical relations with ancient Chaldean sciences, from our Assyrian and Aramean siblings to our Canaanite, Armenian, Kemetic and Avestan/Persian neighbours, passing by the Vedic circulations and arriving to later corruptions by Ancient Greece, whose cultural kleptocracy continues to be reinforced unquestioned today through pop astrology and white supremacist scholarly mishistoricizations.

Format: 7 sessions, one per decan (every 10 days), including:

✸✸✸ ABOUT YOUR EDUCATRESS ✸✸✸
Eazuka Khazrik nurtures a plural, liberatory practice in music, education and transgenerational healing. Working across a multiplicity of spaces and constellations that engage with locally entrenched universalisms, her work is guided by a trans-millennial production of knowledge that refuses to separate people from their knowledge and the land. While probing the unity of science and the multi-dimensionality of experience in an age that institutes separation, over the past 15 years, her indisciplinary practice has been revolving around the collective search and need for polymathy and transformational infrastructure in our shared present and long-term future. She has been initiated into Chaldean Astrology by her grandmother at the age of 10, in year 7300 of their enduring Chaldean calendar and currently speaks 5 languages. She holds a BA in Linguistics and a BA in Theatre from the Lebanese University(LB) and a MS in Art, Culture and Technology from MIT(US) where she was awarded the Ada Lovelace prize.Khazrik has been a fellow at Home Workspace Programme(2012-13), the MIT Department of Architecture(2015-17) Digital Earth(2018-19), SHAPE Platform(2021-22) and the Helmholtz Center for Environmental Health (2022-23), among others and has been teaching in several community spaces, alongside universities, such as HfK Bremen, the FNHW Academy of Art & Design in Basel, Akademie der Bildenden Künste Nürnberg, NTNU, among others. She is the founder of the liberatory platforms “ خريطة الظلام Cartography of Darkness”, AATMA✦ عتمة, “Astrorevolt ܟܪܟܐ” and “Reading Computers قراءة الحواسيب”. Having grown up around a quarry contaminated with military waste brought from the United Empire of Genocide into Lebanon, she has been active in struggles for environmental justice since early adolescence. Eazuka is of Lebanese, Chaldean, Armenian, Assyrian and Indian descent and is based in Lebanon.

To honor the principles of transgenerational justice and ensure broad accessibility across the infinite faces of the Earth, participation in Madrassat Al-Aashtarat is sustained through a sliding scale of reciprocity, mutual care and trust. We offer three tiers, so as to resist global economic disparities and nurture communal solidarity. Those attending from Lebanon and paying in cash can choose the currency with which they register. Here is a breakdown of the 3 tiers:
✸Tier 1(only based in the Global South 50% discount): 180 euro
✸Tier 2 (SWANA Diaspora in the Global North or those requiring financial aid: 30% discount): 270 euro ;
✸Tier 3 (full price for those based in the Global North, or professional astrologers, healing practitioners and educators): 360 euro .
